How the meeting cost calculator works
The meeting cost calculator multiplies the number of participants by the average hourly cost and the meeting length in hours. That gives the cost per meeting. Recurring estimates then apply a practical schedule multiplier: daily meetings use 260 workdays per year, weekly meetings use 52 meetings per year, and monthly meetings use 12 meetings per year.
Employee-hours are calculated separately from money. For example, eight people in a one-hour weekly meeting spend eight employee-hours each week, or 416 employee-hours per year.
Example meeting cost calculation
If 8 people attend a 60 minute weekly meeting and the average hourly cost is $75, the meeting costs $600 each time. Over a year, that weekly meeting costs about $31,200 and uses 416 employee-hours.

FAQ
What hourly cost should I use?
Use the best average fully loaded hourly cost you have. If you only know salaries, divide annual salary by working hours and add a reasonable overhead estimate for benefits, taxes and tools.
Does this include opportunity cost?
No. The calculator estimates direct employee time cost. The real impact can be higher if the meeting interrupts focus time or delays other work.
How are monthly and annual costs estimated?
One-time meetings do not recur. Daily meetings use 260 workdays per year, weekly meetings use 52 occurrences, and monthly meetings use 12 occurrences.
